Consider your energy needs

Before installing a solar system, you need to take your needs into account and see if the ones you want to install, meet them. For example do you want to reduce your energy bill or get off the grid completely? Can your budget cover cheap solar panels adequately? Do you want small solar panels or big ones? Will you have enough money in the future to expand the system when the need arises? Will used solar panels do or can you afford new solar panels?

You might not even need to install an entire system if your energy needs are not that much to begin with. On the other hand, if the energy generated by the solar system you installed does not cover your needs, enough energy can be taken from the grid itself to meet them. Some of the things that can limit you in choices may include your budget and the available shaded space on your roof. Buy solar panels after giving this point due consideration. In fact, check with the installers themselves beforehand to make an informed decision.
 

Environmental Impact

If you want to have solar flexible solar panels or foldable solar panels installed on a large scale facility, you will have to take some things in account regarding the environment. This includes soil compactions, potential draining of large channels, runoff and erosion to name a few. The good news is that those conditions can be mitigated with some engineering but if the area is very dry, an increase in water demand can put a strain on available resources. In addition, you should also be aware of a provider that has to conduct a site visit prior to installing Chinese solar panels, German solar panels etc may charge more.
 

Choosing solar panels

Whether you want to buy solar panels or modules, the choice you make will come down to the money you can spend on them. To calculate that amount you will have to take the size, location and brand of the panels into account. Thin film solar panels for instance are better for sites that experience a lot of shade and are also cheaper in general. On the other hand, you will need to have a lot of space to accommodate them.
Similarly, poly or mono-crystalline solar panels may be more efficient when it comes to conserving energy and they do not occupy as much space, but they do not work as well in the shade. Plus, different panels come in different sizes and wattages which have an impact on their price tag.
